Clint Cunningham

So far over 22 years in the business – many years as a “Little Pub Singer” all over the country – now the leader of Southern Africa’s premier country rock band!

First the Credence Clearwater Revivial tribute, then the U2 tribute followed by several other shows including the Midnight Hour at Richard Loring’s Sound Stage – now finally a record deal, appearances on Noot Vir Noot and Steve’s Dis Hoe dit Is - a direct descendant Of Generaal Koos De la Rey, Clint is the consummate entertainer, a true front man with that powerful vocal rasp to back it up – where’s he going – straight to the top!



Peter Hanmer

Peter moved to Johannesburg from Cape Town in 1980. He started out playing guitar in the hard rock band "Boss". The band changed its name to "Streettalk" and concentrated on playing cover material. In 1983 he recorded and album of original material under the name "Off the Edge". In 1984, after the demise of Off the Edge, he joined "The Mattisson brothers".

This was also a cover band. 

He then moved onto "Domino" in 1987. this cover band lasted for roughly 3 years. Teaming up with Dave Sharp, the duo "Times Two" was formed and lasted until a change in Peters career forced the duo to disband.

In the meantime, Peter and Tony Groenewald put Off the Edge back together and Peter put live performances on hold to work on the Off the Edge projects. He has now been a member of Clint & Co for the last four years. 

Peter has also been responsible for producing and recording Clint’s latest solo album. During the day he runs Foxglove Studios and has recently completed albums such as The Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute. Clint’s album “A Test of Faith” and Geran “Stuck on Sullivan”. 

He also produces instrumental music of which has been used extensively by SABC Tv/radio and the soapie “Egoli”. Mike and Peter have also formed a partnership to write and record a library music collection of African music

Mike Dorea

As one might expect from a sought after musician, mike has been involved in many musical projects. His solid bass guitar talents have been utilized in numerous cover and original bands, as well as in various sessions for both radio and television advertising. He as also appeared on various popular local TV shows.

He has played bass on many original recordings, among them, Toxic Shame's "Kicking and Screaming" and "Detox", Scarlet Box's debut album, Clint's  "Creedence Clearwater Revival" and "Test of Faith" albums, Geran "Stuck on Sullivan",Eden Michelle's "Broken Truth" album and most recently, Maya's debut album. 

Among the many cover bands that he has played for are Midnight Blue, Climbing Walls, Trylogee and Mojo. He has also formed part of Heinz Winkler's rhythm section and is the bass player for the highly acclaimed original band, Off the Edge.

Mike is also involved in many musical projects as a producer/ engineer and rapidly gaining an excellent reputation in this regard. Mike and Peter have formed a partnership to write and record a African Themed Library music. Some of this music has been used by Standard Bank as part of their "Bank TV" project.

Mike is currently producing the debut album for local rock singer Nikki Lee, scheduled for release later this year.

Larry Rose

Larry Rose started playing drums at the age of seven and by age nine, he had played on his first record.  

At eighteen, he was already considered a well-seasoned musician and had a successful drum school in the Arts Centre in Durban, where he taught drums for four years and played with various professional bands as well as backing well known country artists such as Bobby Angel, Gene Rockwell, Clive Bruce, Jody Wayne, Barbara Ray and even comedians such as the late great Pip Friedman, Derrick Dennis and Tony Stewart. 

PJ Powers offered him a job with HOTLINE, which was then the biggest band in South Africa.  After a very successful eight-year tour, the band split. Larry then taught at The Performing Arts Workshop in Johannesburg until he joined another successful band, CINEMA, for a period of five years.  The band had hits like “My Kinda Girl” and “Inside and Out’. 

Larry has played on over 100 albums and has been in bands, which collectively, have had more than ten number one hits on radio.  He has thirteen gold albums to his credit and has also been on TV and talk shows over 200 times. He has written songs for some of the top bands in the country.  

He has toured South Africa, the United States, United Kingdom and Europe many times.  Larry Rose has performed on shows with the likes of Margaret Singana of Ipi Tombi Fame, Brenda Fassie, Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, Manu Dibango, Youssr n Dour, Imagination, Millie Jackson, AHA, Maxi Priest, Steve Kekana, Mc Coy Mrabata, Mauritz Lotz, Amampondo, Harry Belafonte and Juluka, to name but a few.  

He has performed at major events such as Concerts in the Park, Rand Shows, Sun City and Aids Concerts, some ten years in a row. 

Larry has taught well over a thousand students, some of whom have landed up in some of SA's top bands.  His ambition now, is to share his knowledge to inspire aspiring drummers and to create a music college, like the ones in the US that offer tuition unequalled in our country, as a result the Drum Academy was born
