Tim Plewman

Tim Plewman has a diverse and distinguished career as actor, dancer, humourist, director, writer and producer. Tim's career began in 1978 when Pieter Toerien gave him the opportunity of taking over the leading role in the comedy, Happy Birthday, on condition he was on in 48 hours.

This feat accomplished, Tim has become one of the most sought after actors in South Africa. He has proven himself as both a comedy and dramatic actor, starring in such diverse productions as The Unexpected Guest, The Real Thing, Pajama Tops, Who goes Bare? Hello I'm 8, Two into One (Fleur du Cap Best Actor of the Year Award), Doubles (Vita Comedy Award for Best Actor), Sextet, Not now Darling, Uproar in the House and Pale Natives.

Tim was the first actor in SA to win a Best Actor award for the farce genre of theatre.

He has also starred in such stage musicals such "Joseph", "Archy and Mehitabel", "Snoopy!!!", "Tom Foolery" and "Singin' in the Rain". Tim has written and produced the comedies "Grin and Bare it", "Eddie Eckstein Extravaganza and "Historically Funny" and directed many plays, including Tom Foolery (TV), "Heel Against the Head" (Best Comedy Production 1995), "My Brilliant Divorce", Doubles", "Certified Male".

Tim and his wife, Cathy, have a highly successful production company, which has produced 18 theatre and over 160 corporate theatre shows and videos.

Tim is a proficient voice-over artiste and has taken leading roles in 6 TV series including Golden City Dreams (Best Actor nomination) and with Bill Flynn in "The Carruthers Brothers".

Tim wrote and performed in "Breakfast with Dad", a play that honoured his old chum Rex Garner.

Tim Plewman's legendary show, "Defending the Caveman", has been running throughout South Africa for many years to sold out houses. It has crossed the divides of race, gender, age, culture and religion to become a South African icon, the only show to become one of the things you have to see if visiting the country, along with the Big Five, Cape Town and a gold mine.

After literally thousands of requests from companies to "come and do something for them", Tim has developed a corporate show that incorporates the wisdom of "Caveman" and comedy, to answer the questions that your people in your company have about relationships today.

Only someone with the experience of over a thousand performances of talking to men and women about men and women could deliver this kind of mind-altering, laugh-a-minute comfort that will change the way men and women live and work together forever.
