Paul Buckby

Paul Buckby is a South African actor, singer, television presenter and Master of Ceremonies best known for his role as Dr Adam Fischer on the M-Net soap opera Egoli: Place of Gold. Paul is arguably one of the most versatile artists in South Africa, having excelled in several areas of the industry.

After ten years of, mainly musical theatre, he decided it was time for a new adventure – television.

It all started with Miss World 1992 – singing to 400 million people. Launching of the Lost City, and the musical presence of Jan Michelle Jarre. This was the perfect stepping stone to set Paul's career on fire, Paul did shows for M_Net : Bon Voyage and Front Row, where he has interviewed people like Liam Neeson, Aidan Quinn and Stephen Rae.

Paul did many roles for the SABC, including: "Where Angels tread", "The Syndicate", "Kalebone" , "Generations" and "Homeland", for which he received an NTVA award.

In 1994 and 1995, Paul co-hosted Miss South Africa with Doreen Morris, live at the Superbowl – Paul sang in 1995's pageant as well.

Paul also appeared on "Noot vir Noot" , opening another door of opportunity for him.

He is also a qualified auctioneer, having received his auctioneering diploma in 2004.

Paul also presented the "The Motoring Show" on SABC3 in the past.

Paul has been Master of Ceremonies for many events and corporate functions from Miss South Africa to the President's Techno Awards at Gallagher Estates.

Certainly a legend, amongst legends...
