Pepsi Pokane

Pepsi Pokane's background is primarily in television and media. After studying for a degree in International Business, he broke the mould and went into television presenting and producing. Between 1999 and 2003, he worked as a freelance presenter, actor, scriptwriter, and producer - contributing to the creative execution and direction of a number of acclaimed television shows, including The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz (SABC 2), Mamepe (SABC 2), Cinemagic (MNET) and SABC 1 Drama, Gazlam.

In 2004, Pepsi took a year long sabbatical from the world of media and entertainment, to join CIDA City Campus, as their Outreach Projects Manager, involved in utilizing a 1500 strong student network to deliver HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns in over 650 Southern African communities. His portfolio included fundraising, project management, training and strategy formulation.

Pepsi joined television production company - The Digital Re: public in 2005, and has been influential massive growth and transformation within the Re: public group of companies. Since 2005, he has been involved in the creation, execution and growth of several television shows on SABC and MNET – managing up to 50 freelance and fulltime staff.

Apart from television and video production, Pepsi Pokane has been involved with sponsorship, brand strategy, graphic design, the creation of multimedia platforms and brand extensions – all within the Re: public group of companies – allowing him to engage with, and learn from some of the finest platform strategists, creative directors and entrepreneurs on the continent.

Pepsi still has an opportunity to indulge himself in one of his first loves – television presenting, and can be seen on SABC 2's Jazz music platform; Afro Café every Monday night at 10pm. In addition to his on-screen work, Pepsi is a prolifically busy Event M.C. and Professional Speaker, lending his talents to various corporate events and initiatives.

Pepsi Pokane was voted as Cosmopolitan's Sexiest South African Man for 2006, as well as one of 5 Seventeen Magazine Hotties for 2006.

He has brand endorsement agreements with health food supplement CellFood and luxury car manufacturer Audi South Africa, who have recognised him as a serious force to be dealt with in South Africa's media and entertainment industry, as a personality, thought leader and media owner.
