By age 16, Sibulele Sibaca had lost both of her parents to AIDS. Now as a motivational speaker, she travels throughout the world talking to people from all walks of life about the challenges she faced and helps communities work together to prevent HIV.
By giving these motivational talks, Sibulele has been afforded the opportunity to address international heavy weights like Nelson Mandela, President of Liberia Johnson Sirleaf, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Tony Blair, Bono, Will Smith, India Arie.
Richard Branson head hunted her to head up the Corporate Social Investment Department for the Virgin Group in South Africa.
Sibu was also invited to be one of the ambassadors for the 46664 initiative to join the likes of Will Smith, India Arie, Natalie Ambruglio.
Sibu recently returned to South Africa after living and studying in the US and is passionate about young women's issues and the environment.
"I have come to accept that I cannot bring my parents back, yes they have passed on. I did not choose for them to be infected with HIV, nor did I choose for them to die. However I did realise that I had ONE choice in all that has happened and that was the FACT that it was still my choice how I was going to respond.
People often ask me why I am so sure that I am going to succeed despite what has happened to me? And my answer always is 'because when I was born I had a purpose to fulfill, a role to play on the stage called LIFE'.
Now, with or without my parents that role needs to be played out, and I need to play it the best way I know how, and most importantly, I KNOW I CAN!"
