Brett Shuttleworth

From Professional Sports Man to International Supermodel, Hollywood Actor, celebrated Businessman to Motivational Entertainer, Brett Shuttleworth embodies all the good things in life. He achieved the height of international success and acclaim at a young age, travelling the world, working and searching. Born in Newcastle, South Africa, May 1972, Brett Shuttleworth was blessed with a talent for sports, people and entrepreneurism. During his school days, he represented his Province in five separate sports and was Sportsman of the Year. After graduating, he worked as a Police Detective for 3 years and then worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the leading sales manager for Gestetner KwaZulu-Natal, holding the top 10 corporate accounts responsible for sales.

At the age of 22, whilst playing rugby, an American sport scout in Durban, South Africa spotted him. Due to Brett's performance, he was recruited and taken to America to play for a U.S. team. He was the first professional rugby player to receive a visa to the United States by way of the "alien of extraordinary ability" petition.

During his rise to fame in the U.S rugby world, an injury in Denver shattered a bone in his left arm into 29 pieces, abruptly ending his professional rugby career. On May 18, 1999, during a six-hour operation, four metal plates, 16 nuts & bolts and bone from his hip were inserted into his arm. Whilst recuperating from the accident, Brett was discovered by a model talent scout and within days was sent to New York for a casting alongside the world's highest paid male Supermodels. World-renowned photographer, Bruce Weber selected him above all the others, to head up one of the largest ad campaigns in the world, Ralph Lauren, 'Chaps'.

Immediately following, he was selected by the Vice president of Advertising and Marketing for Phillips Van Heusen, parent company of Izod, as a leading man in another world's largest ad campaigns, Izod and Van Heusen Men's wear. Four weeks after surgery, Shuttleworth was awarded the international Joe Boxer underwear campaign, which was plastered on billboards and packages all over the world, namely the famous billboard in New York's, Times Square.

Some of the many world-renowned labels he has worked with are Polo Jeans, Calvin Klein - Eternity and Nautica. These achievements followed Brett being chosen to grace the cover of the anniversary edition of Men's Health magazine. For five years, Brett was represented by the world's leading men's model agency, Wilhelmina in New York.

Brett has without question, proudly carried the South African flag as a true Celebrity 'Ambassador'. He speaks English, Afrikaans and Zulu, which he learnt whilst working on his parent's farm.

Movie stardom was the next step and Brett was invited to play Brett Shuttleworth in the Blockbuster Movie 'American Pie 2' due to his fame and celebrity status, with an astounding International following amongst late teens to early twenties age group.
