When Ray Patterson was 16 he started selling at a clothes shop on a Friday afternoon and Saturday morning to earn some pocket money. "I was hooked on selling immediately. I loved the idea of 'assisting' customers and quickly latched onto the selling skills required. A customer would come in looking for a pair of pants and walk out with two pairs of pants, three shirts, a jacket and a pair of shoes. I just knew I wanted to be in sales.
After spending 16 years working for a few different companies in positions ranging from General Accounts Salesman, Key Accounts Salesman, Sales Manager, Sales Dircetor, Commission only Home Improvements Salesman and Group Manging Director, I started my own business. My business was completely reliant on a team of 10 good commission only Salespeople. It was here that I realised my potential as a Successful Sales Trainer. I loved the idea of training people who had no selling experience to becoming top earning successful sales people. In 1992 I started the Professional Sales Association so that Salespeople could have some form of recognition. I started speaking at conferences and loved the satisfaction of "Connecting" with sales people.

Even if the Salesperson has all the necessary skills to do the job, they will not succeed unless they have ENERGY, ENTHUSIASM AND EXCITEMENT for Selling!
Salespeople can only be successful in the selling situation if they truly LOVE what they do.
And to love what they do, they first need to be PROUD of who they are and PROUD of the selling profession.
They need to do something about uplifting themselves and their profession.
They need to start telling the world that they are PROUD of who they and PROUD of what they do!
