Marjon is an Industrial Sociologist, a Human Resource Development Consultant, and a demanding and enthusiastic facilitator of various training programs.

Currently in demand for training, consultation, development work and motivational keynotes, Marjon has extensive local and international experience in facilitation, program design, skills gap analyses and assessments.

Marjón Meyer – Human Resource facilitates courses such as Management & Leadership, Confidence & Assertiveness, Business Writing, Customer Service, and Time Management, Skills for PA’s, Emotional Intelligence, Diversity Management and Creative Problem Solving etc.

Marjon studied B Com Honours in Industrial Sociology (Cum Laude) as well as B Com Honours in Communication (Cum Laude). She worked in the corporate environment before successfully starting out on her own as a training specialist in 1997.

She gained extensive experience in the Human Resources Development field as a facilitator, a training manager and a training consultant.

Since becoming a consultant, she consistently develops training material and she presents training courses and seminars for clients of training institutions and employees of blue chip corporate companies, government departments and to various people from all walks of life.
Marjon was also an external tutor and moderator in Labour Relations for UNISA.

She is co-author of the book, ‘Managing Human Resources Development’ published by Butterworths in 2003 and again in 2007.  She is also a regular contributor to radio programs and magazines in the Human Resource Development field.

A member of the South African Business Women’s Association, Marjon is also a registered assessor and she has received accreditation from the ETDP SETA.

Over the years, she has been giving professionals advice and tools on how to improve their skills and to enhance their professionalism.

She has been nominated by the Skills Portal as one of the top trainers in South Africa and she is often a guest lecturer at the University of Pretoria. She also coaches corporate professionals to reach their true potential.

Marjon has travelled extensively, both domestically and abroad and she uses every opportunity to gain knowledge and experience through effective networking.

She is a master juggler as she tries to maintain a balance between her career, work, marriage, motherhood and finding the time to pursue her other interests.

Marjón Meyer – Human Resource loves the adrenaline rush that comes to her whilst a group of people are willing to allow her to influence their thoughts, feelings and behaviours: “I love seeing people interested and engaged” she says.

With that being said, she dislikes having to present to people who are ‘forced’ to be present. Alongside horrible venues and poor quality coffee.
If Marjon had not entered the professional speaking circuit, she believes that she would have chosen to be a lawyer.

In her spare time, (“Spare time?” she asks), Marjon’s hobbies include gardening, cycling, travelling and reading. She also volunteers for the Abrahim Kriel Orphanage.

Her celebrity crush would be The Royal Family and she loves watching Downton Abbey and The Slap.
The side of her that the public doesn’t see; “Sitting on my patio, sipping a glass of wine, reading a book … ahhhh!”

Marjon pushes herself hard; she has very high standards for herself. She’s only completely satisfied with her work when her client is satisfied and she knows that she has done her best.

We asked Marjón Meyer – Human Resource why she has succeeded in a field where so many others have failed: “Hard work, I believe in myself, having a good message and God’s grace!” … “Hard work, good reputation and never stop marketing” she says.

She would advise anyone wanting to join the professional speaking circuit to start in a corporate environment or to do volunteer work to build up their experience: “Let people know you are and what your message is!” she says.

The song that best describes Marjon’s work ethic: ‘Anytime, Anywhere’ by Enya.
