Marjón Meyer – Human Resource loves the adrenaline rush that comes to her whilst a group of people are willing to allow her to influence their thoughts, feelings and behaviours: “I love seeing people interested and engaged” she says.
With that being said, she dislikes having to present to people who are ‘forced’ to be present. Alongside horrible venues and poor quality coffee.
If Marjon had not entered the professional speaking circuit, she believes that she would have chosen to be a lawyer.
In her spare time, (“Spare time?” she asks), Marjon’s hobbies include gardening, cycling, travelling and reading. She also volunteers for the Abrahim Kriel Orphanage.
Her celebrity crush would be The Royal Family and she loves watching Downton Abbey and The Slap.
The side of her that the public doesn’t see; “Sitting on my patio, sipping a glass of wine, reading a book … ahhhh!”
Marjon pushes herself hard; she has very high standards for herself. She’s only completely satisfied with her work when her client is satisfied and she knows that she has done her best.
We asked Marjón Meyer – Human Resource why she has succeeded in a field where so many others have failed: “Hard work, I believe in myself, having a good message and God’s grace!” … “Hard work, good reputation and never stop marketing” she says.
She would advise anyone wanting to join the professional speaking circuit to start in a corporate environment or to do volunteer work to build up their experience: “Let people know you are and what your message is!” she says.
The song that best describes Marjon’s work ethic: ‘Anytime, Anywhere’ by Enya.
